Kelley and I went to Yosemite this year for Kelley's birthday trip. We were lucky to have our friends Sarah Cronin and Brian Klein join us.

The first day we got there, Kelley and I went to the Tunnel View and climbed to Inspiration Point, which is a 1.3 mile hike (seemingly) straight up from the Tunnel View parking lot. The next day, Sarah and Brian joined us on a hike on the Mist and John Muir Trails to Nevada Falls, which also passes Vernal Falls. It was a tough but great 6.8 mile hike. I can't count how many times one of said 'wow' or a similar exclamation of wonder.

On last day of the weekend, we went to the Mariposa Grove, the largest of the three Sequoia groves in the park. It was a very enjoyable recovery walkabout

Yosemite is a magical place (not unlike Tahiti*). I can't believe i hadn't been there since I moved back to California 9 years ago. No way I'm making that mistake again.
